Requirements

THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.

z/OS technical support. Involves large, complex information technology systems implementation, integration of diverse architectures, including expertise with RAID DASD storage hardware, mainframe DASD storage controllers, and mainframe tape storage technology.

Tasks

DASD storage and SMS support. Expertise in DFSMS, DFHSM and other DASD Management tools.

Monitor, maintain and recover DASD storage systems and placement of data sets to improve processing efficiency of data systems.

Perform lead role in new system design and development.

Provide technical support in interactive applications, productivity tools, and run-time improvement enhancements. Provide production support of complex programs and recommend changes to control procedures and processes. Provide technical advice during development of system interfaces and exits, responding to problems that arise during program testing and in production modes. Perform trend analysis on systems performance and recommend configuration changes. Provide technical consulting services on issues relating to DASD, tape, and performance management software. Support and cross-train interested employees on DASD topics.

The area near Harrisburg, PA has attracted high tech firms, is still family-friendly with great housing prices, and is only one to two hours from major metropolitan areas.
